Icecrown Citadel Raid

Testing begins at 2:00 p.m. PDT. The raid will close at 2:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, September 1.

  • Embark on the final major raid of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Icecrown Citadel. This raid features twelve bosses spread across five different wings.
    • Conquer the challenges of the Lower Spire, The Plagueworks, The Crimson Hall, The Frostwing Halls, and The Frozen Throne.
  • Test each wing in both Normal and Heroic mode.
  • Experience the Heroic mode with a finite number of attempts, just like the Trial of the Grand Crusader.
  • All wings will be fully unlocked at launch, with no restrictions or gating.

Shadowmourne Legendary Quest

  • Embark on the legendary quest chain to obtain the powerful Shadowmourne weapon.
    • Shadowfrost Shards will now drop without requiring a player in your raid group to have advanced to the quest “The Splintered Throne”.
    • Adjusted drop rates for Shadowfrost Shards on 25-player normal to match the rates of 25-player heroic.
    • Guaranteed Shadowfrost Shard drops from the “End” bosses of each wing on both 25-player Normal and Heroic difficulties.
    • Primordial Saronite will be more obtainable and can be purchased from the Emblem of Frost vendor or obtained in Titan Rune Dungeon: Gamma Protocol dungeons.

Accelerate your journey to obtain Shadowmourne and enjoy this legendary weapon while the content is still current. We have made adjustments to reduce the time needed to complete the quest, allowing more players to experience its power. Please note that these adjustments are subject to change based on feedback and testing.

New Dungeons – The Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection

  • Explore the thrilling dungeons of The Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection.
  • These dungeons are available for testing now and can be found on the upper balcony of Icecrown Citadel.
  • Experience the original Wrath of the Lich King content without additional mechanics or difficulty adjustments.

New Collections User Interface

  • Discover the new collections interface, where you can gather Pets, Mounts, and Heirloom items in one convenient location.
  • Most pets, mounts, and heirloom items are now account-wide.
  • Access the collections UI in your micro bar.

Please note that logging into the game world with characters that have existing heirloom items will automatically add them to your collections interface.

Class Adjustments

  • Hunters now have a new skill, Trap Launcher: Explosive Trap, available to all specs.
  • Druid, Priest, and Shaman healing spells have been adjusted to prioritize players over pets and guardians.
  • Warlocks will experience reduced cooldowns and improved spell power for Demonic Pact and Summon Infernal.

Known Issues

  • Please note that the LFG tool is not functional in this PTR build. We are working on updating the group finder tools for this patch.
  • There may be interface errors that appear during gameplay.
  • The Argent Crusade NPCs, camps, and Battering Ram will be added in a future PTR update.
  • There are some issues with the RP scenes after the Deathbringer Saurfang encounter.
  • The Flesh Eating Insect swarm trap outside of Professor Putricide’s room may require triggering and clearing twice before the door opens.
  • There are animation issues with the Frostwing Welp packs leading up to Sindragosa.
  • The visual effects for Sindragosa’s abilities may not be the correct size.
  • Sindragosa’s Tail Swipe ability may not properly knock players down and immobilize them.
  • Players may see the Frenized Bloodthirst target visual effect on themselves during the Blood Queen Lana’thel encounter, even without the debuff.
